Japan's most southwestern islands of Okinawa`YAEYAMA islands' traditional folk songs by a fisherman with his Sanshin(3-string instrument made with snake skin. These islands went through very sad history because they were given a heavy and impossible taxation system. People living on these beautiful coral islands were forced to get separted. There were many deaths and tears, which created many songs of sorrow, hopes, working, love etc. Isamu Asato, a fisherman and a singer, trained his lung by his free-diving career, which enables him to sing many tunes which requires extra-long breathing technique. "People in the old days expressed their agony by the long and hard breathing method. In order to keep expressing these songs in their original forms, I need to keep training my body." said Isamu Asato.
